The very quality Katana offered from the collection of SAMURAI STORE Yokohama sword store. A complete set of antique Katana sword and ornate mountings. Authentic forged Tamahagane steel blade made by swordsmith Osafune ShigemoriI located in Bizen in 1390s, Muromachi "Sengoku" Warring States period. Blade is registered as Hozon paper "Preservation Sword" certificate by NBTHK (Japan Sword Preservation Society). As most katana blade from Muromachi era don't have inscriptions on tang, this balde does not have any inscription but NBTHK is officially ascribing the blade to MORISHIGE's work. The stunning Gunome-Choji wavy tempered line pattern on the blade. Blade has a great curvature (2.4cm) that is a typical specs for Muromachi era blades. Not only the blade but the whole ornate mounting is also certified as Tokubetsu Hozon ornate mounting (Extremely preserved mountings). Some parts of the mounting have crest called Maru-Ni-Kyumai-Sasa that means Nine bamboo grasses in a circle. This crest is known as the crest of warlord Takenaka Hambei.
